Amazon takes 15%. Etsy takes 6.5% plus 3% payment processing plus $0.20 per listing. eBay takes 13.25%. Shopify charges $39/month before you sell a single item, then takes 2.9% plus $0.30 per transaction on top.
These platforms own the customer relationship. They control search rankings. They can delist you overnight. They hold your payouts for 14 days. They change their algorithms and your sales drop 40% with no explanation and no recourse. You built the store. They own the mall.
Sellers are tenants. ForgeMarketplace makes them landowners. 1-3% flat commission. BSV escrow. Your listings on chain. Your customers are yours. No landlord. No eviction notice.
ForgeMarketplace is a decentralized marketplace built on BSV. Sellers list products and services. Buyers pay into smart escrow. Goods are delivered. Escrow releases. The platform takes 1-3%. That is it.
The seller owns the listing. The seller owns the customer data. The seller owns the storefront. Listings are on chain. If ForgeMarketplace the application disappears tomorrow, any BSV-compatible client can render your store. Your business does not depend on our uptime. It depends on the chain, and the chain does not go down.
No 30-day payment holds. No opaque search algorithms. No policy changes that gut your revenue overnight. No begging a support team to reinstate your account. Sovereign commerce.
Every transaction on ForgeMarketplace flows through BSV escrow. No PayPal. No Stripe. No 30-day reserves. No frozen accounts.
1. Buyer pays. Funds move from buyer's wallet into a BSV escrow transaction. Neither party can touch the funds unilaterally. The chain holds them.
2. Seller ships. Seller marks the order as shipped and provides tracking or proof of delivery. For digital goods, ForgeDrive handles encrypted delivery on escrow release.
3. Buyer confirms. Buyer confirms receipt. Escrow releases to seller minus the 1-3% platform fee. If the buyer does not confirm within the configurable window (default: 14 days after delivery confirmation), escrow auto-releases.
4. Dispute resolution. If the buyer disputes, Trinity consensus kicks in. Multiple nodes verify the evidence: tracking data, delivery signatures, communication logs. Majority consensus resolves the dispute. No single entity decides. No biased platform ruling. Math and consensus.
Every step is on chain. The payment, the escrow lock, the delivery confirmation, the release, the dispute if any. Immutable. Auditable. No "he said, she said." The chain said.
The numbers speak for themselves.
| Platform | Commission | Processing Fee | Other Fees | Effective Rate |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Amazon | 15% | Included | FBA fees, storage, advertising | 15-30% |
| Etsy | 6.5% | 3% + $0.25 | $0.20/listing, Offsite Ads 12-15% | 10-25% |
| eBay | 13.25% | Included | Promoted listings 2-20% | 13-33% |
| Shopify | 0% | 2.9% + $0.30 | $39-399/mo subscription | 5-15% |
| ForgeMarketplace | 1-3% | Included | None | 1-3% |
For a seller doing $50,000/year:
$4,750 saved vs Etsy. $6,125 saved vs eBay.
That is not a rounding error. That is rent. That is inventory. That is profit.
The 1-3% fee is flat. No hidden charges. No listing fees. No subscription. No "offsite ads" surcharge you cannot opt out of. No promoted listings tax to stay visible. One number. On chain. Verifiable.
On Amazon, you do not have a store. You have a listing inside their store. They own the buy box. They own the customer email. They own the search ranking. They can clone your product under AmazonBasics and bury you on page 12. You are a guest in their house and they can change the locks whenever they want.
Every listing is a BSV transaction. It exists on chain. No platform can remove it. No algorithm can hide it. Any client that reads the ForgeMarketplace protocol can render your product. You are not at the mercy of one app store, one website, one company. Your listing is a fact on the blockchain.
When a buyer purchases from you, you get their shipping address, their contact info, their order history with you. Not a platform-anonymized email that routes through their servers. Your customer. Your relationship. You can follow up. You can offer discounts. You can build loyalty. The platform does not sit between you and your buyer.
Reviews are on chain. Tied to verified purchase transactions. No fake reviews because every review links to a real escrow completion. No platform removing negative reviews from competitors or positive reviews from you. The review is a chain record. Immutable. Portable. Yours.
Your ForgeMarketplace storefront is a ForgeSite. Sovereign web publishing. Your domain. Your design. Your chain. If ForgeMarketplace the company disappeared tomorrow, your storefront still renders from chain data. Your business continuity does not depend on a startup's runway.
Every listing, every review, every transaction, every customer relationship is on chain. Export everything. Move anywhere. No vendor lock-in. No "download your data" request that takes 30 days and gives you a useless CSV. The chain is the database. Any compatible client reads it.
ForgeMarketplace does not operate in isolation. It is one node in the Forge ecosystem, and every sibling product makes it stronger.

BSV script-based escrow. Funds locked in a 2-of-3 multisig: buyer, seller, and dispute resolver (Trinity consensus node). Normal flow requires only buyer + seller agreement. Disputes invoke the third key.
ESCROW TRANSACTION:
Input: Buyer funds (full price + platform fee)
Output: 2-of-3 multisig
Key 1: Buyer (can release to seller on confirmation)
Key 2: Seller (can refund to buyer on cancellation)
Key 3: Trinity Resolver (dispute tiebreaker)
RELEASE PATHS:
Normal: Buyer confirms --> Buyer+Seller sign --> Seller receives funds
Refund: Seller cancels --> Buyer+Seller sign --> Buyer receives refund
Dispute: Trinity rules --> Winner+Trinity sign --> Funds to winner
Timeout: 14 days no action --> Auto-release to seller
On-chain reputation. Every completed transaction generates a reputation record. No fake reviews because every review is linked to a verified escrow completion.

Reputation Score = weighted average of all on-chain ratings
- Recent transactions weighted higher
- Dispute losses weighted heavier than wins
- Score portable across any ForgeMarketplace client
- Cannot be gamed: requires real escrow completion
Listings indexed by ForgeOverlay nodes. Any node running the ForgeMarketplace overlay can index and serve listings. Decentralized search. No single entity controls what buyers see. No pay-to-play ranking. Relevance is computed locally by each client.

Amazon is the Demiurge of commerce. It does not create value. It extracts rent from those who do. Every seller on Amazon is a sharecropper on Bezos's land. You plant the seeds. You tend the crop. You harvest the grain. And the landlord takes 15% for the privilege of farming on his dirt.
Then he studies what you grow, copies it, slaps his own label on it, and buries your listing beneath his. AmazonBasics is not a product line. It is a confession. The Demiurge does not create. It mimics. It consumes. It extracts.
Etsy was supposed to be different. The handmade marketplace. The artisan's refuge. Then it went public. Then it added mandatory offsite ads. Then it raised fees. Then it started promoting factory goods over handmade ones because volume pays more than craft. The artisan's refuge became another extraction engine wearing a craft fair mask.
ForgeMarketplace gives sellers their own land. The chain is the deed. The escrow is the handshake. No landlord. No eviction. No 15% tithe. When you list on ForgeMarketplace, you are not renting shelf space. You are planting a flag on sovereign territory. Your listing is a transaction on BSV. It exists as long as the chain exists. No algorithm hides it. No policy change kills it. No competitor with deeper pockets buries it.
The Pneumatic seller does not ask permission to sell. The Pneumatic buyer does not trust a middleman to hold the money. The escrow is math. The listing is on chain. The handshake is cryptographic. Commerce without Archons. Trade without tithe. The marketplace belongs to the people who use it.

The marketplace belongs to the merchants, not the mall.
The chain is the deed. The escrow is the handshake.
